River and Sky is designed with your adventurous lifestyle in mind.
A collection of luxury essentials designed by a small team of artisans and creative folks. Our clothing embodies the California lifestyle and is always made in the USA. The perfect balance of casual, comfortable and sustainable fashion.
Clothing sprouted from the earth. Did you know that almost all of our fabrics are of botanical origin? Cellulose fibers such as cotton, linen, tencel, modal, and viscose start their life as trees. Many of these fibers come from sustainable wood sources -natural forests and sustainable plantations. The fiber production itself is extremely eco-friendly, due to a closed loop system. Up to 95% of the materials used are recovered & reused during the yarn making process. Even the energy produced during processing of the pulp is used to power the production facility!
Coffee tastes have changed so much that I remember around 2012, introducing a much more acidic coffee into our blend thinking we were going to lead customers into a new experience of flavour, only to be dismayed on day one with customer’s dissatisfaction with a fruitier and more flavourful coffee. Coffee is after all the seed of a fruit. From then on, we began to work at a gradual pace, turning up the brightness a little, season after season. Today we can proudly craft a coffee with notes of lemon meringue, strawberry or passionfruit and find people on all sides of the counter are learning and developing their pallets.
We are committed to supporting local manufacturing in the Los Angeles area. Not only do we care about our clothing, but we care where it is made. And more importantly, we care about the the people who make it. We partner with independent locally owned contractors of the highest caliber employing hundreds of California residents in the process. Our close relationships ensure not only the highest quality of goods, but ethical production as well.
An artisan - a person skilled in an applied art; craftsman - a person that creates a distinctive product in small batches, usually by hand. Our philosophy is "one-of-a-kind pieces for a one-of-a-kind" person. Unique, expressive garments for unique, expressive people. Our designers have many years experience working with tie dye, creating one of a kind pieces from the hands of real artists. Learning and perfecting our craft is a top priority so we experiment with new techniques on a regular basis, incorporating our discoveries into the latest designs. We specialize in a mix of modern and traditional techniques, always striving for the most beautiful outcome, to nourish the creative spirit.
